Headquartered in Utah, AENB is the single largest entity within American Express' business, currently representing more than 50 percent of the company's Card Member Spending, nearly 90 percent of its lending, and more than 60 percent its of revenues.

The Corporate Function Control Management Team within AENB will serve as the business unit Control Management function for several corporate groups including Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C); Colleague Experience Group (CEG), General Counsel's Organization (GCO); Global Risk & Compliance (GRC); Enterprise Strategy (ES); and American Express National Bank Headquarters (AENB HQ). AENB is looking for Managers and Senior Managers for roles within following teams: Control Management Governance & Reporting Team: The objective of the AENB Control Management Governance & Reporting team is to establish the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for AENB, set up a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting. Control Management Risk ID, Assessment & Testing Team: The objective of the AENB Control Management Risk ID, Assessment, Testing & Reporting team is to identify, assess and mitigate Operational Risk within BU processes for AENB to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, Amex policy and enhance the BU's resilience through managing a clear methodology of inherent and residual risk.
Control Management Issues, Events & Remediation Team: The objective of the AENB Control Management Issues, Events & Remediation team is to ensure timely identification, response, and resolution of risk events and issues to minimize impact, as well as to prevent recurrence through effective remediation and lesson learning. Control Management Process Risk Reduction Team: The objective of the AENB Control Management Process Risk Reduction team is to directly engage in the continual improvement of business processes to mitigate operational risks and steps in when noteworthy issues or events occur, and subsequently deploy resources to remediate at scale. Required Qualifications: (Manager: 3+ Years) (Senior Manager: 4+ Years) experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous Experience in at least one of the following: o Translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines o Tracking and identifying issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds o Oversee the implementation of the operational risk governance frameworks o Communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards o Facilitating the operational risk exam management processes Experience in financial services industry ORMCM Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
