What you will be doing:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is recruiting for an Office Assistant 1 located at the Rabbit Creek Shooting Park in Anchorage!
This position will provide front-line customer service at the Rabbit Creek Shooting Park (RCSP).
Duties will include:
? Answer incoming calls and respond to requests for information regarding range hours and operation.
? Greet public range users and inform them of range safety rules.
? Direct range users to trained range staff with more in-depth questions.
? Operate cash register and credit card machine to collect fees.
? Stock and inventory office supplies.

The Office Assistant 1 will be part of the Hunter Information & Training (HIT) Program team that works with an array of dedicated volunteers and private/agency firearms instructors to promote safe and enjoyable hunting and shooting experiences for the general public (all ages).
The working conditions you can expect:
The position is based at the Rabbit Creek Shooting Park, located in south Anchorage adjacent to the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge. The incumbent will be in contact daily with the public, volunteers, and ADF&G staff. This short-term, non-permanent position will be from April 5-August 3, with a normal shift of 10:00 am ? 6:00 pm on Wednesday ?Sunday.
? This is a non-permanent 4-month position (April 5-August 3).
? The normal shift is Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00am-6:00pm when the facility is open for public use.

We are looking for an individual with the following competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities:
? Experience working in a customer-service environment with strong interpersonal and customer-relations skills.
? Basic knowledge of cash registers, financial transactions, computers, and common business software.
? Basic understanding of firearms and ammunition, firearms safety, firearms maintenance, and hunting practices and culture.]

Special Note:
Must be able to legally carry and effectively use firearms.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D.;
OR
Acceptance in full standing by an accredited college (this includes acceptance in a concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment program);
OR
A Career Readiness Certificate with ACT WorkKeys?scores of skill level 3 or higher in: Graphic Literacy (formerly Locating Information), Applied Math, and Workplace Documents (formerly Reading for Information).
Special Note:
ACT WorkKeys?skill testing and career readiness certification is available at the Department of Labor and Workforce Development's Alaska Job Centers.
'Acceptance in full standing' means acceptance to a post-secondary program by a college or university and does not require enrollment or participation in the program. This includes acceptance in a program offering college credits while in high school, or both high school and college credits, but does not include taking advanced placement courses in high school.
Some positions in this class require the incumbent operate a State vehicle. Such positions require the selected candidate possess a valid driver's license and be 18 years of age or older on or before the first day of employment.
