Position Overview
In the Decision-Making Department (B3), the Bundeskartellamt serves as an autonomous competition authority under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. With a workforce of approximately 450, half of whom possess legal or economic qualifications, we are currently seeking to fill two positions as:
Case Manager (m/f/d)

These roles are available for full-time or part-time employment. Key Responsibilities: ? Conducting analysis of data available to the MTS-K, particularly focusing on fuel prices, while collaborating with various organizational units and assisting in the enhancement of the IT infrastructure of the MTS-K. ? Performing targeted market research or investigations as required. ? Regularly presenting findings to the public in close cooperation with our press department. ? Engaging in communication with citizens (handling inquiries and complaints), businesses (e.g., addressing reporting issues), and... other governmental bodies. ? Contributing to case processing in merger control, antitrust management, and penalty procedures (data analysis, research activities, drafting texts and decision proposals, as well as organizational tasks such as file management). Exciting Areas of Responsibility Awaiting You in B3: ? After initial training, independently preparing data with spatial relevance, for instance, for merger control using a Geographic Information System (GIS). ? Presenting results within the team and providing assistance in utilizing GIS for other team members. ? Participating in case processing in merger control, antitrust management, and penalty procedures (data analysis, research activities, drafting texts and decision proposals, as well as organizational tasks such as file management). ? Addressing submissions (including complaints) and inquiries of all kinds. Required Qualifications: ? A completed degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in economics, (business) informatics, (business) mathematics, or a natural science, preferably with several years of professional experience in the public (non-technical) administration, or ? A successfully completed career examination for the higher non-technical administrative service, or ? A completed training as an administrative specialist or as a certified business specialist (IHK) or a successfully completed civil service training program. Additional Expectations: ? Proven, in-depth knowledge in efficient data analysis beyond Excel, along with a willingness to learn to use Geographic Information Systems, Stata, SQL, and possibly Python or internal software applications, depending on the assignment location within the Bundeskartellamt. ? A readiness to familiarize oneself with the relevant regulations (especially the Act against Restraints of Competition) pertinent to the aforementioned tasks. ?
